LUNTIAN

The deterioration of the terraced landscapes in Philippine Cordilleras are extremely vulnerable and the main disaster for the Ifugao’s cultural heritage. But what if we can provide a structure that will preserve its beauty and serve as a key to showcase, develop and enhance its existing condition? “Luntian” is the Filipino term for green and green stands for nature. “Nature will be aided through the architectural manifesto of nature”. Luntian is a visit center that aims to showcase the site’s historical value and replenish the Rice Terraces of the Philippine Cordilleras by providing an aid to restore its natural setting.

BIONIC SHELTER

Designing the Batcave

The Biosonar is currently a common way for high technological device to perceive forms and objects without using the light.  Similar to bats that use different process to communicate and hunt instead if their sight. They are able to perceive and see in the dark by distributing “sound waves” and it bounces back to the bats’ ears from different objects. Imagine all the equipment inside the “Batcave” integrated with “biosonar”, all gadgets are easy to use, the Dark Knight will only use his voice, small movement and reflex then all equipment will automatically operate.

“An architectural manifesto of a symbiotic living environment”

The design is interconnected to both technological wiring and nature’s ecosystem; creating a symbolic relationship that encourages production while nourishes the health of people and its surrounding. It develops the building to be a functioning organism that reacts to internal processes and management white embracing and harnessing external variables. On the other hand, the design incorporates local traits and materials to render familiarity and cultural values throughout the building and not just through the facade.

ECOLYMPICS

Contoured Structures - the general concept of the design is to build through the existing ecosystem and terrain of the site. The design have a relationship of unity and continuation that responds to nature. The stadium concept is inspired by the rich biodiversity of the Philippines. It creates a physical manifistation of unity and cycle of the ecosystem. A relationship that is sustainable, nourishing and connected. The structure not only serves as a host to Olympic games but also to spectators and the local flora and fauna. Each curvilinear roof that branches out and gently slopes to the ground was designed to host different plants that are needed for a specific ecology of the site.

ALGOTROPISM

The experience of most Filipinos during land travel is a forgettable one. Congestion and the volume of transportation on the road is a disturbing number. Evidently, transportation is a source of emissions and a variety of pollutions that contribute to the deterioration of the city and the environment for that matter.

AlgorithmicTropism. Refers to the programmed and functional growth of plants and its adaptability and responsiveness to external stimulus. The facility is designed to adapt to the elements in nature namely, solar, air, water etc.
